Algunas fotos de este verano en Nueva York. Cuando las veo me recuerdan a los buenos momentos que pasé en julio pasado allí. Fue mi tercera vez que visitaba esta ciudad, y sin duda la mejor. Espero volver lo antes posible porque necesito ver a la gente que conocí allí y por eso voy a dedicarles este post a: Bea, Ambra, Diana, Ana, Irene, Hester, Roser y en especial a ti.

Some old pictures of last summer in New York. When I see them I remember the good times I spent last July there. It was my third time visiting this city, and certainly the best. Better than a CHEESECAKE

That's the Beyonce song "Why don't you love me". A song inspired by the women from the 50's. They were  made for cleaning the house, care for the children, make the dinner and help their husbands in whatever they could; a sexist vision of women which was normal at that time. What I most like about this song is the videoclip. It has been recorded like if it was a tv show of the fifties decade. The Pin Up esthetic is reflected in Beyonce's clothes and hairstyle. Which gives the vintage air is the old light blue telephone and in general all the staging. We have to consider many details that give a twist to the video, for example all the rings that she is wearing only in one hand, the glass of martini and the olives, and the makeup smeared as if she has been crying, but in fact all is very thought.

I'd like to share with you some pictures and the video, because I adore all this esthetic of Pin Ups and I think that Beyonce has managed to play the role of these women and get into the time. Love the overacting!

Siento haber estado un poco out últimamente, he estado ocupada con trabajos, así que he tenido que dejar a parte mi segunda vida. 

JC de Castelbajac, diseñador nacido en Casablanca. Su primera colección fue en 1968, un año más tarde su primer show. Creador de ICEBERG en Italia. Rendió homenaje, a través de vestidos, desde  Mickey Mouse, hasta Luis XVI, Cindy Sherman, Peter Hujar Encounter Keith Haring y Jean-Michel Basquiat.  Ha vestido a Sarah Jessicah Parker en Sex and the City. Por supuesto lleva creando colecciones desde el 2002 y ha mostrado gran parte de su trabajo en exposiciones, como la que se hizo en el  2006 en el Victoria and Albert Museum llamada Popaganda.

De momento no tenemos tienda en España, pero esperemos que pronto se pueda abrir alguna o al menos introducir en una tienda multimarca. De todas maneras, siempre nos quedará la online shop.

 

Su último trabajo ha sido la colección Spring/Summer 2011 llamada Uber Tropikal Airlines: Kitsch, retro, impredecible, sentimental, pop, intrépida, divertida o soñadora, son algunas de sus características. Como si fuera la historia de unos exploradores viajando al continente africano, JC de Castelbajac nos introduce al mundo del cómic, las etnias y los safaris a través de un vuelo lleno de colorido y prints .

JC de Castelbajac, a designer born in Casablanca. His first collection was in 1968, a year later his first show. ICEBERG operator in Italy. A FOLK CREATION

Inspirado en aires folks, hippies y desenfadados. Este es el resultado de mi último trabajo: el diseño (dibujado a mano) de un estampado y posteriormente trasladado a una prenda, en mi caso un pantalón. De esta manera he acabado elaborando un estilismo, dicho de otra manera un look completo.
